The Legend of the Lykae

Ever wondered why the sexiest shifters are Lykae not werewolves?

At first I thought they were interchangeable, but a little research soon showed me different.A werewolf is an unfortunate creature whose baser instincts are triggered by the full moon. Once a month they change into a monster and go on the rampage.
.

Sure, they’re hot, 27 days out of 28. Come the 28th day, they change. Usually, they lope off somewhere isolated, and sit out the full moon—alone. It’s probably for the best.
Occasionally, a human ventures too close, and the result is disastrous. Remember the story of Red Riding Hood? It makes more sense when you know the wicked wolf is a werewolf—his actions influenced by the full moon.
Difficult as their link with the moon makes their lives, they don’t carry torment and pain inside.

Lykae are tortured beings, and their lupine nature is a punishment from the Gods for the way their ancestors acted.
Did I say they were usually hot? Take a look.

My mouth’s watering already.
So, what did they do that was so terrible?
King Lycaeon—from the Greek realm of Arcadia—enjoyed his harem. He fathered fifty sons, but their royal lineage went to their heads. When a peasant visited the city, they slaughtered a child, and served up his flesh to the peasant. Only the peasant was Zeus.
Furious, he revealed his identity, resurrected the child, and transformed the king's sons into Wolves. He said it better suited their nature.
Ever heard the sins of the fathers are passed on to their sons?
Well guess what? It’s true.
The descendants of those Arcadian Princes—male or female—are Lykae. Inside they know they know their ancestors pissed off a powerful god, and it torments them.
Usually Lykae are honorable members of society, but occasionally their lineage shows and one goes rogue. The true Lykae hunt the rogue down, and protect the humans around them.
In my Scattered Sibling’s series, the Lykae live in the Otherworld kingdom of Tredjure—which means three beasts. My Lykae have a natural wolf form, a human form, and Primal (Were) form. They may not be descended from the natural Arcadians, but they are hot, muscular, and they find true contentment when they claim their true mate. Mostly.
For Joel Blackheart finding his true mate was a disaster, since he’d already agreed to an arranged marriage to strengthen his pack. Which one will he choose?
